Jim Marshall

James Joseph Marshall, born February 3, 1936, and passing on March 24, 2010, was a renowned American photographer and photojournalist. He became famous for his compelling images of musicians during the 1960s and 1970s. Gaining the confidence of his subjects, Marshall enjoyed rare access to their lives, capturing both performances and personal moments. Notably, he served as the official photographer for the Beatles’ last concert at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park and was the chief photographer at the historic Woodstock festival. His work remains celebrated for its intimate and authentic portrayal of some of the most iconic musical figures of his era.
