The Bride

Eva, a young Rwandan woman, harbors dreams of attending medical school. Her hopes are shattered when she is abducted by a group of men in the Guterura ritual of forced marriage. Deserted by her family, she faces the harshness of her new existence with her husband Silas and his cousin. When Silas leaves for work, the two young women develop a gentle bond, filling their days with chores, beadwork, tea, and sharing stories of family and genocide memories. Yet despite this companionship, Eva considers escaping to a life of freedom.
