CULT-TASTIC: Tales From The Trenches With Roger And Julie Corman

S01E01 Future Worlds

In the inaugural episode of Roger and Julie Corman’s Cult-tastic!, the spotlight shines on seven films centered around the theme of “future worlds.” It kicks off with Battle Beyond The Stars, helmed by Roger Corman and Jimmy T. Murakami, featuring Richard Thomas, Robert Vaughn, George Peppard, and John Saxon. Notably, James Cameron, who arrived in Hollywood with no prior experience, was promoted to lead special effects after the original team was let go. The episode also highlights Galaxy of Terror, directed by Bruce D. Clark, starring Edward Albert, Erin Moran, and Ray Walston. War of the Satellites, another Corman-directed film, features Dick Miller, Susan Cabot, and Richard Devon, and was released shortly after Russia launched the first satellite, capturing the U.S.-Soviet rivalry. Fred Gallo’s Dead Space brings humor into the mix, with Marc Singer and Laura Tate battling a shape-shifting virus in space. C
