At Café René, a secretive transaction unfolds surrounding the solid gold weight of a cuckoo clock, alongside Van Klomp's famed portrait of the Fallen Madonna. Five mysterious figures, each donning paper bags over their heads, gather for the exchange. They introduce themselves as Colonel X, Lieutenant X, Captain X, Private X, and simply X, adding an air of intrigue to the clandestine meeting.
