Ernie heads to the stunning Great Barrier Reef along the northeastern coast of Queensland, where he connects with locals who cherish this remarkable area. He reunites with Yindinji elder Gudju Gudju, who introduces him to the vital mangrove swamps and their role as a nursery for the diverse fish species that thrive in the reef. At James Cook University, Ernie encounters Jamie, a toxinologist deeply engaged in studying the ocean's dangerous creatures. Jamie expresses his ambition to share his expertise to safeguard our oceans. Ernie also goes scuba diving with instructor Erin, learning about her passion for life on the reef, and meets Gareth, a skipper, and his partner Teresa, a fellow toxinologist, who are dedicated to raising their family with a love for the Reef.
